New purchases
Recently received wages and the last instalment of the student loan so decided to treat myself to a few goodies for summer and upcoming events:
H&M bangles...total cost of about £5. BARGAIN!!
Miss KG boots in the sale. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE
Topshop playsuit. Not usually into floral patterns but the orange in this one won me over instantly and I can NOT wait to wear it at the Isle of Wight festival in a few weeks!!
H&M vest and necklace. Both again were a bargain, and have been searching for the perfect white baggy vest for absolutely aaaaages!
H&M boyfriend blazer. Sorry for the creases, its been travelling a lot recently.
Last but not least the Topshop maxi-skirt, which is absolutely gorgeous and flows like a dream!
Am feeling a real bohemian vibe at the moment. Dreams of being a hippy. So will be showing some inspirational shots in the very near future...but for now I think that is more than enough so peace out.
Reiss Work Outfit
Having passes the first 8 weeks of my 12 week probation period it is time to acquire a whole Reiss outfit to wear to work instead of black...which, as much as I love the colour black, am becoming very sick of!! A lot of the clothes we have in store at the moment are quite girly with lots of pretty dresses etc and that sort of thing really isn't me...therefore I tried to find a few things that I could create into a look that was more my style.
This is what I came up with...

As of this moment I haven't purchased the outfit yet but it is on the to do list. Also in case you are wondering, the little flowery detail in the picture is actually what is on the back pocket of the jeans...adds a little something something.
Fashion Design Interview Project
During Christmas time I may have had a slight mental break down and eventually came to the conclusion it was because I wasn't enjoying my degree course and so decided to interview for fashion design. Fortunately after having spoken to the head of fashion at my uni he agreed to the interview and as part of my portfolio I needed to complete a project that had been assigned to all potential interviewees.
The project consisted of taking an existing garment and altering it in what ever way you wanted. For my project I decided to take a couple of plain white t-shirts and convert one into a jacket and the other into a skirt, in order to create an outfit. Here are the finished articles:

To create the lace effect sleeves, collar and lapels I used an old net curtain.
The skirt was made by turning the t-shirt upside down, sewing the sleeves to the sides to create pockets and adding a bit of the net curtain for some detail along the bottom.
Since the interview I decided that I don't actually want to do fashion and have changed my mind again to something else (lol). Fingers crossed all goes well with this course instead!
Lanzarote
Beginning of April I was lucky enough to be invited on holiday with the boyf and his fam, to their villa in Lanzarote. The weather was absolutely beautiful all week, which meant we spent most of our time lazing about in the sun and by the pool but what more do you need!!
The boyf and I travelled out a day earlier than the rest of the group (lucky us!!) However, not so luckily our flight was at 7am meaning we had to be at the airport by 5am. It was therefore decided (possibly by me :S) that we should stay up all night watching movies because what would be the point in going to bed?! This turned out to be a very stupid idea...fortunately though we still managed to stay cheerful.

Travelling outfit: Hat, Accesorize (bought new at the airport). T-shirt, H&M. Jeans, H&M, which I wore turned up at the end.
Also you probably can't see it but I am sporting a brand new clinique ORANGE lipstick! Which I absolutely love!! It's so summery and colourful. Just what the doctor ordered : )
Whilst we were on holiday the boyf treated me to a gorgeous jacket from Vero Moda complete with funky elbow patches. And a beautiful peacock feather print scalf by a brand called pieces. So basically I was spoilt rotten for a week...good times!!
(Didn't have the jacket with me to take a photo of, sorry. But sure it will be up here soon)
Finally!!! (And London)
Have finally got round to updating the blog with everything that's been going on for the last month or so...therefore to get straight into it the first thing to talk about is the anniversary trip to London at the end of March with the boyf.
Saturday we went to the V&A Museum to see the Yohji Yamamoto exhibition. It was stunning. Not sure if the boyf actually enjoyed it or not but it really inspired me so at least one of us was happy!
Friday outfit: Cardigan and vest, Topshop. Shorts, old New Look jeans I cut. Bag, River Island...everyone wants this bag : )!!
Friday night we went to the Theatre to see 'The Woman In Black' which is awesome!! Truly terrifying, highly recommend it. Also, got papped in this ensemble leaving the hotel! Guaranteed to make you feel special.
Outfit: Blazer, Tesco. Top, Zara. Skirt, Topshop. Heels, Principles all those years ago when it was open.
Saturday outfit: Dress, H&M. Blouse, Topshop. Belt, Principles (another oldie). Scalf, Primemark. Shoes, River Island.
