Current fashion/life mood board

Last night included a little room detox, not sure what it is about Sunday's but I always feel the need for rearrangement and cleansing...from this came the inspiration for the new wall display at the end of the bed, and spose it's fair to say this sums up my life at the moment a lil bit.

The most important part for me is the 'come as you are' poster. Not for the obvious reason that it's telling you to be an individual or unique or make your own statement in this world...but because it reminds me of the awesome song by the legendary Kurt Cobain!! RIP. And because it has relevance with things that are going on in my personal life. Plus her hair is so totally awesome!

But more on the fashion side of things, the poster to the right is by a designer called Mike Lythgoe. He is an awesome illustrator and not only has he worked for the late and great Alexander McQueen but he has also been commissioned by people outside the fashion industry (eg Becks and Hewlett Packard). His work is serial and psychedelic and beautiful.

Trying to make black interesting for work...

So it's been a while since I said 'watch this space' not very exciting! But have been a wee bit preoccupied with le boyfriend this weekend ; ) good times!!

But moving on to more important matters...I GOT A JOB AT REISS!!!! Woop woop!! Has made my year so far getting this job and it's such an amazing place to work. Little bit of background info: Reiss was founded in 1971 by David Reiss and initially specialised solely in men's wear until 2000 when the first women's collection was released. Over the years it has grown and expanded and become a very influential force in the fashion world. The clothes are designed in house at the head office in London and they are absolutely beautiful with influences from James Dean to Ray Lamontagne and Audrey Hepburn to Princess Diana. I feel so privileged to be part of the Reiss team and family and had my first shift this Thursday just gone...hence the title....trying to make black more exciting! Because until I have worked there one month and got my uniform allowance I can wear nothing but black :S!

This is the outfit I chose: H&M lace dress (F/W 10) and Primark wedges (F/W 10) love them!!

This is the start of something good! Don't you agree?

For those who are music literate you might have realised that in my title yes I am quoting from a song...well done!

So I started this blog because:
1. It seemed like a good idea at the time (we shall see)
2. I wanted to talk to someone about everything fashion, basically, without being looked at funny (I study aerospace design engineering at present...doesn't make for a very understandable and enthusiastic audience.)

But it seems this comes at a bad time and I must dash for a potential flat viewing beckons
